Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CaféWork (cafe-work.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use our service.
These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the operator of CaféWork. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
Description of Service
CaféWork is a bilingual (French/English) online directory that lists and rates cafés suited for remote work. The service allows users to:
- Search for cafés by city, neighbourhood, and remote-work criteria
- View detailed ratings across 11 remote-work-specific criteria
- Create an account to save favourites and contribute content
- Access neighbourhood guides and blog articles
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service at any time, with or without notice.
User Accounts
To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and up-to-date information when registering
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
User-Generated Content
By submitting content on CaféWork (comments, ratings, photos, reports), you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, and distribute that content in connection with our service.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own the content or have the necessary rights to grant us this licence
- The content does not infringe any third-party rights
- The content is accurate and honest
We reserve the right to remove any content without notice.
Content Standards
All content you submit must comply with the following standards. You must not post content that is:
- False, misleading, or fraudulent
- Defamatory, obscene, offensive, or harassing
- In violation of any third party's intellectual property rights
- Containing malware, viruses, or any harmful code
- Promoting illegal activities
- Constituting spam or unsolicited advertising
- Harvesting personal data from other users
Violations may result in content removal and/or account suspension.

Café information on CaféWork (hours, amenities, WiFi, etc.) is provided for informational purposes only. While we strive to maintain accurate and up-to-date information, we do not guarantee its completeness, accuracy, or timeliness.
Conditions at cafés may change without notice. We recommend verifying important information directly with the café before your visit. CaféWork disclaims all liability for inaccuracies or changes to the information presented.
Intellectual Property
The CaféWork service, including its source code, design, text, graphics, logos, and other content created by our team, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You are not permitted to:
- Copy, modify, or distribute our content without written permission
- Use our trademarks or logos without prior authorization
- Scrape or automatically extract content from our service
- Create derivative works based on our service
Third-party trademarks, logos, and trade names mentioned on our service belong to their respective owners.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, including Quebec's Consumer Protection Act, CaféWork (Andre Boisvert) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CaféWork's total liability for any direct damages is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim — which is zero dollars ($0) for free-tier users.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Andre Boisvert (operating CaféWork), his agents, and successors from any claims, losses, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from: (a) your breach of these terms; (b) content you submit or make available through the service; or (c) your use of the service in violation of any third party's rights.
Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute arising from these terms or your use of the service, the parties agree to attempt to resolve the matter amicably before initiating legal proceedings. If no resolution is reached within thirty (30) days, disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Quebec, Canada. Consumer rights under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act remain fully applicable.
Modifications to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time by posting the revised terms on this page. The "last updated" date at the top of the page will indicate when revisions were made. Your continued use of the service after posting of modified terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
For significant changes, we will endeavour to notify you by email or by a prominent notice on our service at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law rules. For Quebec residents, rights conferred by the Consumer Protection Act apply in full.
